§ Mr. Les HuckfieldThere is no statistical measure of capacity. The only information available relates to output. During 1974 and 1975 total completions of merchant ships in the categories specified were as follows:
Gross Tons (a) Harland & Wolff Ltd. 502,829 (b) The merchant shipbuilders who will become subsidiaries of British Shipbuilders 1,832,266 (c) The shipbuilders not to be taken into public ownership 57,749 The completion figures for Harland and Wolff reflect the specialised nature of the company's output which consists of large ships.
