§ 26. Mr. Costainasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is aware of the damage which is being sustained to the crops in the South-East of England, due to the sharp increase in the rabbit population; and if he will undertake a special investigation into this 448W growth particularly as the breeding appears to be occurring on land owned by the Forestry Commission and land used by the Ministry of Defence.
§ Mr. StrangThe situation concerning rabbit populations and damage, whether nationally or in the South-East, remains as stated in the replies given to the hon. Members for Oswestry (Mr. Biffen) and Monmouth (Mr. Stradling Thomas) on 18th February 1976 and 26th April 1976 respectively. I will gladly inquire into any particular case of local infestation which the hon. Member has in mind.—[Vol. 905, c.687–8; Vol. 910, c. 19.]
