asked the Secretary of State for Defence what proposals he has to take over any part of Cornwall and Devon for use by the Army as firing ranges; and if he will make a statement.

None. I presume that the Hon. Member has in mind the next stage of the Dartmoor public inquiry, which is due to open in Exeter on 11th May. The purposes of the resumed inquiry were set out in Lady Sharp's statement of 6th April 1976.
