HC Deb 04 May 1976 vol 910 c354W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will take steps to make available the figures for the annual value of capital allowance against taxation to companies operating in Wales.

Mr. Denzil Davies

I have been asked to reply.

I regret that no meaningful estimate can be provided. The difficulty is that many companies with some operation in Wales are registered in other parts of the United Kingdom and will be assessed for tax in the country of registration. Also, for a company which has operations in several parts of the United Kingdom, there will not be any information readily available by which to estimate the allocation for each part of its total of capital allowances due.
