HC Deb 04 May 1976 vol 910 c342W
Mr. Crawford

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what arrangements he is making for that part of the 1981 Census which affects Scotland to be counted and processed in Scotland.

Mr. Harry Ewing

The 1981 Census will be taken in Scotland, like earlier censuses, under arrangements made by the Registrar General for Scotland. Planning is as yet in the initial stages and it is too soon to say what the detailed arrangements will be, though the clerical processing of the completed census forms will again be undertaken in Edinburgh.
