§ 38. Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will publish a White Paper containing the response of Her Majesty's Government to each of the proposals made by M. Tindemans in his Report to the EEC Council of Ministers on further steps to European Union.
Mr. HartersleyI do not think that would serve a useful purpose. Examination of the proposals and discussion in the Community will continue for some time before definitive views can be taken. If any of the ideas in the Report leads to a proposal for legislative action the House will have the opportunity to consider it in the usual way.
