§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Minister of Overseas Development what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government on the cancellation of debts of the least developed countries which have been hardest hit by the world recession.
§ Mr. PrenticeAs I indicated in my reply to a Question from my hon. Friend on 10th November last year—[Vol. 899, c. 381–2]—we remain ready to consider, case by case and in co-operation with other creditor countries involved, appropriate measures to alleviate the debt problems of any developing country with special difficulties which are directly due to the burden of debt service.
