§ Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give an assurance that all persons in receipt of annuities within the terms of the Civil List will be subject to the same pay restraints as all other state employees and other workers.
§ Mr. Joel BarnettThe annuities paid under the Civil List Acts for the Queen's Civil List and to other members of the Royal Family are used largely to defray the expenses incurred by them in carrying out a share of the Royal duties. I am assured that so far as those expenses comprise salaries and wages, any increases are subject to the current pay limits.
