§ Mr. John FraserThe first table below shows the numbers registered as unemployed, the percentage rates of unemployment and the notified unfilled vacancies in the Southampton travel-to-work area, which includes Eastleigh. The vacancy figures relate only to vacancies notified to employment offices and careers offices and are not a measure of total vacancies. Because of possible duplication the two vacancy series should not be added together.
The second table gives estimates of the numbers of employees in employment in the Southampton travel-to-work area, at June each year from 1971 until 1973, the latest date for which the information is available.
