§ Mr. John FraserThe total number of unemployed people on Merseyside has fallen from 76,495 in February to 75,010 in March and the unemployment rate has fallen from 10.1 per cent. to 9.9 per cent. Although this reduction is obviously welcome I recognise that unemployment on Merseyside is still unacceptably high.
