§ Mr. Cantasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he proposes to take to mitigate the consequences to claimants of compensation under the Housing Act 1969 in respect of successive occupation cases following the verdict in the Reeve v. West Hartlepool case.
§ Mr. FreesonI intend to propose amending legislation to deal with this point when a suitable opportunity arises. In the meantime I am prepared to consider applications from local authorities for sanction to make extra statutory payments in cases affected by this decision.
