Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will take steps before the next General Election to decrease the proportion of Scottish Members of Parliament in the House of Commons approximately to the same scale as is applied to English Members of Parliament;

(2) if he will take steps before the next General Election to increase the proportion of Northern Ireland Members of Parliament, in the House of Commons approximately to the same scale as is applied to English Members of Parliament.
