§ Mr. Hicksasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when hill farmers on Bodmin Moor can expect to receive compensatory payments for their hill cows and sheep under the terms of the EEC directive covering hill and less favoured areas; and when it is hoped to pay the additional supplementary 660W allowance as announced in the House on 8th March 1976.
§ Mr. BishopPayments of hill livestock compensatory allowances to farmers on Bodmin Moor have been delayed by the need to investigate the large number of queries arising from an examination of the claims, and in many cases by the need to allocate notionally the commons between farmers claiming to have grazing rights on them. It is hoped to complete the payments by the middle of April. The increase in the compensatory allowance in respect of hill cattle will be paid as soon as parliamentary approval has been obtained.
