§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Trade why he refused the request of the Kirklees Metropolitan Council for a meeting with himself and the Secretary of State for Industry to discuss the dumping of low-cost textiles and clothing and the Wool Textile Reorganisation Scheme, both as it has operated in the past and as any successor scheme might operate in the future.
§ Mr. Deakins,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 3rd March 1976; Vol. 906, c. 651–2], gave the following information
My hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Industry has suggested to Kirklees Metropolitan Borough that its representatives might most appropriately put their views to the Department of Industry's Regional Director in Leeds; and I am writing to it supporting this suggestion.
