§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is her current estimate of the average weekly level of occupational pension.
§ Mr. O'Malley,pursuant to his reply,[Official Report, 20th February 1976; Vol. 905, c. 851],gave the following further information
In my reply of 20th February I quoted an estimate of £8.80 for the average weekly amount of occupational pension received by occupational pensioners., This estimate, as stated, was based on the Family Expenditure Survey for 1974. I should have made clear, however, that the estimate related to people over the State pension age—65 for men, 60 for women. A corresponding estimate relating to occupational pensions of all ages would be £9.80 a week.
