Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in the Official Report the annuities currently received by those persons previously provided with such annuities within the Civil List.

Mr. Joel Barnett

The following annuities are currently payable under the provisions of the Civil List Acts.

The Queen's Civil List 1,400,000
HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother 95,000
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh 65,000
HRH The Princess Anne 35,000
HRH The Princess Margaret 35,000
HRH Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester 20,000

The sum of £85,000 a year payable to the Royal Trustees under Section 3 of the Civil List Act 1972 is currently apportioned as follows:

HRH Princess Alexandra, Mrs. Angus Ogilvy 30,000
HRH The Duke of Gloucester 15,000
HRH Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone 5,000

In addition, payments are mady by way of superannuation benefits to or on behalf of staff of the Royal Household and for Civil List pensions; the following amounts were paid in 1974–75, being the heads of expenditure mentioned in Command Paper No. 6393 where it is stated that there could be a charge on the contingency reserve.
