asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take action to protect publicans from assault, and increase the penalties for such assaults.

36. Sir John Hall

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations have been made to him by the associations representing licensed victuallers about the inadequate penalties imposed upon persons found guilty of serious assault on licensees; and what steps are to be taken to protect licensees.
