asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will list the police authorities who now operate foreign motor cars or bicycles.

Of the 20,601 police vehicles in use in England and Wales, 170 cars and 489 motor-cycles are foreign-made. The foreign-made vehicles were provided by the police authorities for the following police forces:

  • Avon and Somerset.
  • Bedfordshire.
  • Cambridgeshire.
  • Cheshire.
  • Cleveland.
  • Derbyshire.
  • Devon and Cornwall.
  • Dorset.
  • Durham.
  • Essex.
  • Gloucestershire.
  • Greater Manchester.
  • Gwent.
  • Hampshire.
  • Hertfordshire.
  • Kent.
  • Leicestershire.
  • Lincolnshire.
  • Merseyside.
  • Metropolitan Police.
  • Norfolk.
