§ Mr. Jim Marshallasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if she will estimate the number of families where the woman is in full-time work and the man remains at home, and whose incomes are such that the families would qualify for FIS if the man rather than the woman were in full-time employment;
(2) what would be the cost of enabling those families where the woman is in full-time work and the man remains at home to qualify for family income supplement where appropriate.
§ Mr. O'MalleyIt is not possible to make an estimate of the number of families where the wife is in full time work and the man remains at home and whose incomes are below the family income supplement qualifying levels. Similarly, it is not possible to estimate costs.
