The statutory maximum membership, exclusive of the chairman and vice-chairman, is 20. I am considering one or two further appointments.
The appointed membership includes nominees of local authorities, the trade unions, the Confederation of British Industry, the Ulster Farmers' Union, the Northern Ireland Chamber of Trade, the Incorporated Law Society of Northern Ireland, the universities, the Standing Committee of Youth Organisations and of the Secretary of State.
