HC Deb 25 June 1976 vol 913 cc486-7W
22. Mr. Ashley

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what new initiatives he has taken to reduce the number of registered disabled workers who are unemployed.

Mr. John Grant

The Government have already announced initiatives to reduce unemployment, and disabled people whose employment prospects depend primarily on the employment position generally will be helped by these measures. Additional proposals affecting disabled people were included in my hon. Friend's statement of 10th December last and these are being progressed, subject to the many consultations required, as quickly as possible.
