§ Mr. Hugh Fraserasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether, in the interests of the efficient running of the railway system, he will revoke the Transit of Animals (General) Order 1973.
§ Mr. StrangWe do not intend to revoke the Transit of Animals (General) Order 1973, the provisions of which are necessary to protect the welfare of animals in transit. The existence of the Order would not appear to place undue constraints on the efficient running of the railway system.
