§ Mr. BishopAssessing the impact of changes in the value of the £ sterling is a highly complex matter. There are many factors which need to be taken into account, including the relationship between the £ and currencies other than the dollar, the duration of any depreciation of the change rate and the operation of monetary compensatory amounts. I regret, therefore, that no answer can be given in the terms requested by the hon. Member.
