§ Mr. Warrenasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what has been the recorded incidence of tuberculosis over each of the last 10 years; and what recent measures have been taken by his Department to inform medical practitioners about this illness.
§ Dr. OwenCases of tuberculosis notified over the past 10 years in England and Wales are given below. The Chief Medical Officer wrote to doctors in the National Health Service on 9th October 1975 advising them of measures to be taken in reducing the incidence of respiratory tuberculosis. The Standing Medical Advisory Committee has also issued a booklet on the Epidomiology and Control of Tuberculosis. I am sending copies to the hon. Member.
