HC Deb 16 June 1976 vol 913 c158W
Mr. Welsh

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the cost and length of the new concrete safety barriers installed on the motorway at Shepherd's Bush, London; and what plans he has to extend the use of this type of barrier.

Mr. Marks

This barrier was installed by the Greater London Council at a cost of £1,100 for the 55 metre length.

At present there are no plans to use the barrier on trunk roads as initial tests suggest that small European cars can sustain excessive damage on contact with it.
