§ Mr. John SilkinThe accepted expediture level in the RSG settlement is a national figure and cannot be broken down authority by authority. I cannot, therefore, analyse any national expenditure figure which is in excess of that level authority by authority.

§ Mr. John SilkinA table setting out estimates of the contribution of the capital expenditure of local authorities in England and Wales to public expenditure programmes in 1975–76 and 1976–77 was given in Table 35 of the recent White Paper on Public Expenditure to 1979–80 (Cmnd. 6393). We do not have as yet reliable information of the outturn for capital expenditure in 1975–76.
