§ Mr. Ovendenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in respect of which Kent districts he has already aproved re-warding proposals; and when these will be implemented.
§ Mr. JohnMy right hon. Friend has made orders for new electoral arrangements in the districts of Ashford, Dartford36W and Tunbridge Wells. These came into operation for the district council elections held on 6th May 1976.
§ Mr. Ovendenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in repect of which Kent districts warding proposals made by the Boundary Commission are still awaiting approval by him; when they were approved by the commission; and what action he now intends to take.
§ Mr. JohnThe districts in Kent for which the Local Government Boundary Commission for England has submitted its final proposals for new electoral arrangements, and where no order has yet been made, are listed below, with the dates on which the proposals were approved by the commission. We are considering these reports with a view to making orders for new electoral arrangements in these districts as soon as practicable Priority was given to these areas where the district councils were anxious for the new arrangements to come into operation for the 1976 elections.
