HC Deb 28 July 1976 vol 916 c240W
Mr. John Moore

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what percentage of the people under 30 years of age were convicted of a drugs offence in each year since 1945.

Dr. Summerskill

0.081 per cent., 0.066 per cent, and 0.061 per cent, of people aged between 10—the age of criminal responsibility—and 29 inclusive, were convicted in the United Kingdom of a drug offence in the years 1973, 1974 and 1975, respectively.

I regret that information for earlier years is not available.
