§ Mr. David Howellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer through what procedures he intends to undertake consultation with trades unions about income policy after 31st July 1977; and what arrangements he intends to take account of the views and problems of middle management.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonThe Government are in continuing touch with the TUC on matters of common concern. We are well aware of the problems of middle management and other groups and we shall bear their views in mind in considering the arrangements for pay after July 1977. The Government will remain open to any representations that they make.
