§ Mr. Wrigglesworthasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will give an assurance that the decisions announced in his statement about capital investment in the steel industry in Wales will in no way lead to delays over BSC developments on Teesside.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldThe only BSC proposal for developments on Teesside currently before us is the Redcar plate mill project, representing stage III of the Redcar development. This project would not be affected in any way by the further review of strip mill investment which my right hon. Friend announced to the House on 19th July. We have not yet received any formal proposals from BSC for further steelmaking developments at Redcar.
