§ Mrs. Chalkerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many community service orders were made in 1975 in the Wirral courts in particular and in Merseyside courts as a whole.
§ Mr. JohnI regret that information in the precise form requested is not readily available and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. The Merseyside probation and after-care service estimates, however, that during 1975 some 274 offenders living in its area were given community service orders by courts both within and outside the area. Of these, six offenders lived in the Wirral petty sessions area, to which community service arrangements were extended on 1st August 1975.
