§ Mr. GoldingThe numbers of employees in employment in Great Britain in local government service (Minimum List Heading 906 of the Standard Industrial Classification, 1968) were 723,000 at June 1955 and 1,033,000 at December 1975. The figure for December 1975 is provisional. Expressed as proportions of all employees in employment, the figures were 3.5 and 4.7 per cent. respectively.
