asked the Secretary of State for Industry what directions he will give to the NEB in their consideration of the forthcoming request from Rolls-Royce (1971) Limited for additional financial assistance, bearing in mind the company's intended contraction of their labour force at Blantyre, Dundonald and Barnoldswick.

Mr. Kaufman

Rolls-Royce (1971) Ltd. has yet to be transferred to the NEB, so the question of a direction does not arise.
