HC Deb 26 January 1976 vol 904 c45W
Mr. Kenneth Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he proposes to take to improve the means and time of travel by air between the United Kingdom and the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Rowlands

A British-built permanent airfield is now under construction at Port Stanley at a cost of over £4 million. It is due to be completed by the end of July 1976. It will enable the air service to and from the Falkland Islands to use larger and faster aircraft.
