§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Employment when the Pearson Commission inquiry on civil liability is likely to be completed; and if he will give an assurance that if there is any likelihood of the Commission not completing its report within the present Session, he will without further delay provide a fund to assist the victims of silicosis in the quarrying industry.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerThe Royal Commission on Civil Liability and Compensation for Personal Injury hopes to complete its work by the end of this year. The Government would not think it right to make any fundamental changes in the present system of compensation until they have had an opportunity to consider the recommendations of the Royal Commission.
