§ Mr. Edgeasked the Secretary of State for Employment under what circumstances the time limit allowed for an application for a review of or appeal against a decision of an industrial tribunal can be extended.
341W
§ Mr. John FraserAn industrial tribunal may extend the 14-day time limit applying to an application for a review of a tribunal decision whenever it considers such extension justified. In deciding whether to grant an extension a tribunal will have regard to the reasons why the application was not made in time, the interests of the other parties in the case and any other relevant factors. The extension of the 42 day time limit for an appeal against a decision of a tribunal is a matter for the discretion of the High Court or the Court of Session, which will be exercised in the light of all the circumstances of the case.
