Mr. Ted Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many functions are being organised by the Admiralty Board at which talks are given by Royal Navy officers on "The Need for the Royal Navy Today—what interests do we have at sea and how might they be threatened?"; what purpose is served by these functions in view of the statement on the invitation that the talks are not concerned with recruiting; how many of these functions are to be organised in 1976; and what is the cost to public funds.
§ Mr. JuddI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave on 15th December 1975 to my hon. Friend the Member for Salford, East (Mr. Allaun)—[Vol. 902, c.439–440]—The number of presentations so far planned for 1976 is now 80.
