§ Mr. Luceasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what were the dates and details of the 652W two offers of mediation made by Her Majesty's Government to the Icelandic Government on the fisheries dispute, as mentioned in his parliamentary statement of 4th February 1976.
§ Mr. HattersleyThe first offer was made by me to Mr. Agustsson, the Icelandic Foreign Minister, on 11th December last year in Brussels; the second was made by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister during our talks in this country with Mr. Hallgrimsson, the Icelandic Prime Minister, on 24th January. On both occasions the Icelanders expressed a preference for continuing bilateral negotiations.
