§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will define the 547W policy of her Department, and give guidance on the desirability of co-operation locally between police and health authorities for the provision of accident flying squads; and if she will define the areas of responsibility for the provision of such services in the public interest.
§ Dr. OwenThe transport of hospital accident flying squads is for local decision by health authorities in consultation, as necessary, with the police and other interested organisations.
§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she is satisfied that adequate alternative arrangements in the public interest will be provided by the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary following the decision by the Derbyshire Constabulary to withdraw support from the accident flying squad.
§ Dr. OwenTransportation of the accident flying squad in police vehicles is still the subject of discussion between the Derbyshire Area Health Authority and the Chief Constable of Derbyshire. The AHA has been considering the possible need for alternative arrangements.
