HC Deb 11 February 1976 vol 905 c260W
Mr. George

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the increased revenue that will accrue to the Government in extra tax paid by one-parent families as a result of the introduction of the child interim benefit.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

On the basis of 1975–76 tax rates and allowances, the estimated additional revenue is about £10 million.
