Mr. Stonehouse

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what sections of the report or evidence obtained in connection with the investigation of London and County Securities Group Limited were released to Scotland Yard; and whether the permission of the individuals concerned was obtained.

Mr. Shore

The inspectors submitted information in pursuance of Section 41 of the Companies Act 1967 in September 1974 and their final report on 7th March 1975. These were made available to the police together with a transcript of such evidence as was relevant to their inquiries. Information obtained as a result of inquiries under the Companies Acts 1948 and 1967 is only provided in accordance with the provisions of those Acts.
