HC Deb 02 February 1976 vol 904 c420W
Mr. Lee

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will appoint a commission of inquiry to investigate the Government of Hong Kong in the light of the revelations of corruption of recent years.

Mr. Ennals

No. The Independent Commission Against Corruption which began operations in February 1974 has made impressive progress. It has received a large measure of support from the Hong Kong public and must be given a proper opportunity to fulfil its task.
