Mr. Churchill

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement about the future of the military hospitals at Millbank, Colchester, Netley and Tidworth.

The functions of the Queen Alexandra's Military Hospital at Millbank, the Military Hospital at Colchester and the Royal Victoria Hospital at Netley are to be transferred to the new Queen Elizabeth Military Hospital at Woolwich, which is due to be commissioned on 1st April 1977. It is planned that the Queen Alexandra's Military Hospital, Millbank should close by 1st April 1977, the Military Hospital, Colchester should close by 1st January 1978 and the Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley should close by 1st February 1978.

The Tidworth Military Hospital is to close by 1st April 1977 and will amalgamate with the RAF Hospital at Wroughton.
