§ Mrs. Wiseasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will make a grant to the National Childbirth Trust for the purpose of providing free anti-natal classes in areas of special need.
§ Dr. OwenAnte-natal classes are already widely provided under the National Health Service. However, we are always ready to consider new applications for grants to voluntary bodies on their merits in competition with other demands on available resources, and would gladly consider any application from the National Childbirth Trust for financial assistance under the provisions of Section 64 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968.
