asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish the district valuer's estimate of the likely sales proceeds of Nantwich Cottage Hospital.

Dr. Owen

No estimate is available.

Mr. Goodlad

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what were the proceeds of sale of Alvaston Hospital.

Dr. Owen

£32,500.

Mr. Goodlad

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what were the proceeds of sale of Linden Grange Hospital.

Dr. Owen

£75,000.

Mr. Goodlad

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many staff reside at Crewe Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Owen

On 5th August there were 35 staff resident in the Crewe Memorial Hospital premises. The average number has been about 40.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the annual running cost of Crewe Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Owen

In the financial year 1975–76 the running cost was £47,489.

Mr. Goodlad

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when an estimate of the sum of money which would be realised from the sale of Albert Infirmary, Winsford, will be available.

I refer the hon. Member to my reply on 3rd August 1976 [Vol. 916, c.701–2]. Unless and until the premises are declared surplus to NHS requirements, no estimate will be made.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, when an estimate of the sum of money which would be realised if Crewe Memorial Hospital were to be sold will be available.

Dr. Owen

The premises are in use by the Cheshire Area Health Authority and no estimate will be available in the foreseeable future. The sale value would depend on the proposed future use.
