Mr. Dodsworth

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many civil servants there are in his Department, together with their grades, who deal with the preparation, presentation and revision of Finance Bills.

Twenty officers in the Treasury dealt directly with the 1976 Finance Bill. Their grades are:

  • 1 Second Permanent Secretary
  • 1 Deputy Secretary
  • 1 Under Secretary
  • 3 Assistant Secretaries
  • 5 Principals
  • 1 Higher Executive Officer
  • 3 Higher Executive Officers (A)
  • 1 Administrative Trainee
  • 1 Executive Officer
  • 1 Clerical Officer
