HC Deb 04 August 1976 vol 916 c811W
Mr. Bowden

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what proportion of the higher rate of compensation paid to Service men discharged as a result of attributable disablement resulting from service after 31st March 1973 or in Northern Ireland is directly related to the degree of assessment of the attributable disablement.

Mr. Mason

The benefits payable under the Armed Forces Pension Scheme for attributable disablement occuring anywhere after 31st March 1973 vary according to rank, but, for any given rank, are entirely dependent on the degree of disability.

The special disablement pensions which were effective from August 1969 to March 1973 for Northern Ireland only are based wholly on the degree of disability.
