§ 30. Mr. McCrindle
asked the Secretary of State for Educaion and Science what further steps he proposes to reduce truancy in schools.
§ Miss Margaret Jackson
I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to a Question from him on 6th July.—[Vol. 914, c.463.]—The responsibility for tackling problems such as truancy must rest ultimately with individual teachers, schools and local authorities, but in conjunction with the education associations we shall be considering ways in which examples of successful measures can be disseminated.
