HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 c658W
14. Mr. Litterick

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he has any plans to redirect the money which was not spent on Fircroft College, Selly Oak, during 1975–76, and will not be spent during 1976–77 on Fircroft College, to other trades union educational purposes.

Mr. Gerry Fowler

No. It is not yet possible to estimate the savings which will be realised by the temporary closure of Fircroft College. As my right hon. Friend stated on 22nd July, in answer to a Question from my hon. Friend the Member for Rossendale (Mr. Noble)—[Vol. 915, c.554]—subject to parliamentary approval, £400,000 is being made available for trade union education in the current financial year.
