Mr. Goodlad

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many medical personnel were employed by (a) the Cheshire Area Health Authority and (b) the Crewe Health District on 1st January 1974, 1st January 1975 and 1st January 1976;

(2) how many (a) manual and (b) non-manual non-medical personnel were employed by (a) the Cheshire Area Health Authority and (b) the Crewe Health District on 1st January 1974, 1st January 1975 and 1st January 1976.

The following numbers of staff (whole-time equivalents) were employed by the health authority to work within Cheshire and the Crewe Health District respectively on the dates stated below:

to any over-commitment of resources in that year affecting the progress of major schemes already under construction or to be started in the current year.

As to the Liverpool Teaching Hospital, I have nothing to add to my other reply to the hon. Member today.

asked the Secretary of State for the Social Services what is the anticipated total cost of the building of the Liverpool Teaching Hospital.

This depends on the cost of extra fire precautions and some other additional work, the nature and extent of which are still being studied.
